In summer, the painting paints itself. Hello, it's been a very busy summer and this is a quick newsletter... Besides painting for art shows and plein air events, I've been learning how to organic farm. What fun, but a lot of work!  We are managing greenhouses with 40-year-old citrus trees and fig trees, and our orchard filled with fruit trees, grapes and berries.  We have family pets and grandkids, but now we've added chickens, ducks, a highland calf, a small herd of goats and a guardian Akbash/Pyrenees rescue dog from the amazing folks at Undega Mountain Dog Rescue to our farm family - phew!!  It's turning into a real farm! It's been a bit exhausting, very hot (average 110F degrees) but inspiring. I even painted my first chicken!  ©2021 Lori McNee, "Backyard Chicken" 16x20 oil on canvas Earlier this month I was a part of the 30th Annual Kneeland Gallery Plein Air Exhibition. Nine artists and I painted on location in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho. The exhibit is now hanging through the end of August. Here's a peek at my studio paintings. I was happy and grateful to see so many red dots!
