Freedom - Call for Entries | Monday, July 16

Freedom means something different to many different people. In this year, especially, freedom can be defined by many different views, many countries, many politics, many beliefs and many points of artistc views. Give us your best freedom art for this future exhibition.

All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered from photography, sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. If it can be hung on the walls, we will consider it. Accepted artists will be asked to be a part of a live collective show in the future months. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the show, which is not a requirement to being a part of this online show.

YICCA 2012 Young International Contest of Contemporary Art | Friday, July 20

A.p.s Moho Association is pleased to announce the official opening of the Yicca 2012 contest. The contest 2012 is the natural continuation of Yicca 2009 contest, where the great success with over 1000 participants has prompted the association to expand its relations and cooperation with galleries and professionals. It stands to reason that promotion of "our" talents within the art market is our main aim.

The contest is open to all artists or groups of artists and professionals who are at least 18 years old. The selected by the jury artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their participating work in Prague, in "The Chemistry Gallery" in the period between 4 to 25 October 2012. They will be included in "Yicca 2012" catalogue, as well, and finally the artists will be invited to stay in Prague on the opening day at the expense of A.p.s Moho Association.

Richeson 75 International Art Competition - Figure Portrait 2012 | Monday, July 23

Best in Show: $5,000 cash; First Place in each category will receive $1000 in Richeson art materials; Second Place in each category will receive $500 Richeson art materials. The two categories for this competition are: Oils, Oil Pastels and Acrylic - Other Media (Soft Pastels, Drawing/Dry Media, Watercolor, Gouache, Casein, Printmaking, etc.). Finalists will be selected and invited to participate in the exhibit at the Richeson Gallery in Kimberly, Wisconsin from October 8 - December 7, 2012. Only work actually exhibited in the Richeson 75: Figure / Portrait 2012. Awards will be presented at the Opening Reception.

12th Annual Summer All Media Juried Online International Art Exhibition | Tuesday, July 24

The Upstream People Gallery presents an exhibition with 12 month's gallery representation, August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013, with approximately one million hits each month. Open to all artists worldwide. Artworks including collage, digital and all mixed media. All artworks including alternative media, paintings, sculpture, prints, drawing, photographs, papier colle, assemblage, installation, digital manipulation, ceramics, fiber, stills of film and video, and any other.

Cash Awards of Excellence and Special Recognitions will be given at the juror's discretion; the amounts and number of which is determined by the entries and their quality. Specially recognized artists will be reviewed in the juror's statement published worldwide and sent in a press release to the artist's local newspaper(s).

Call for Art - Animals Online Art Competition | Saturday, July 28

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces a call for entries for the gallery's 2nd Annual "Animals" online art competition for the month of July 2012. The gallery would like for all 2D artists (including photography) to send us their best interpretation of the theme "Animals" by submitting their best animal art for inclusion into the gallery’s August 2012 online Group Art Exhibition. We encourage entries from artists, regardless of where they reside to apply to this competition by submitting their best animal art. Animal art will include any mammals, birds and animals that live in the water.

Winners of the "Animals" Art Exhibition will receive extensive worldwide publicity in the form of email marketing, 70+ press release announcements, 70+ event announcement posts, extensive social media marketing and distribution, in order to make the art world aware of the art exhibition and in particular, the artist’s accomplishments. What is local to you? Where do you live? We're interested in seeing what is in your world, what is your every day local life. Take the things you see every day and create. Submit your best local art for this future exhibition. All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered from photography, sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. If it can hang on the wall, we will accept it.

Accepted entries for this online exhibit will be judged again for our collective live show at the Pasadena Gallery in August 2012. $500 will be awarded to the curator’s choice for best artist for the collective show.

2012 Science & Math based Art Competition - SMART | Tuesday, July 31

Science and math-based art demonstrates scientific or mathematical concepts, principles, or phenomena in creative ways. It can be created digitally using computers, be photographic, or be produced through traditional fine arts methods including drawing, painting, pottery, fiber arts, etc. The contest will be free to enter, and all entries will be by upload of a digital representation of the artwork on the contest website. Entries will be accepted through July, but entries will be posted to a gallery on the website as they are received to allow for viewing. Contest winners and awards will be announced and an exhibit will take place in conjunction with the Next Big Idea Festival on September 15th. More than $2500 in prizes will be awarded. The inaugural competition last year netted more than 900 entries from throughout the world and prizes winners shared thousands of dollars in cash prizes. There is an online gallery of art submitted last year on the website.

Beholding Beauty International Art Competition | Tuesday, July 31

What is beauty? The definition is much larger than we usually assume. Beauty is a subjective experience and can be found in the most odd circumstances. What is that sensation that is evoked when we see something we feel is beautiful? What is it that moves us? How does the contemporary art scene define it? How do you define it as an artist? The Water's Edge - Call for Entries | Monday, August 13

Water is life and so it is natural that artists are fascinated with all aspects of water. The ocean, the sea, the lake, the river, and even the faucet provide a calming force for humanity. Submit your best water art for this future exhibition. All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. It must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. Sizes up to 12 feet art acceptable. Minimum for photography is 16 x 20

Accepted entries for this online exhibit will be judged again for our collective live show at the Pasadena Gallery in October 2012. $500 will be awarded to the Curator’s Choice for Best Artist. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the show, which is not a requirement to being a part of this show. However, only those who do participate in the live show will be listed in the live show's slideshow and website and also be eligible for the Curator's award.

Eco Arts Awards Call for Entries | Wednesday, August 15

Eco Arts Awards is an annual thematic arts competition in six creative categories: Fine Art, Photography, Literature, Songwriting, Short Videos, and Repurposed Materials in Art & Design. Our jury selected first place winners in each category receives $1,000 USD cash, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive prizes from select green businesses. New American Paintings is a museum-quality, soft-cover art periodical, published bimonthly by The Open Studios Press. Each 184 page volume is a regional exhibition-in-print, selling for $20 at 1,500 bookstores, museum shops and art supply stores nationwide. Mystery Build Art Challenge | Sunday, September 16
Mystery Build is an art contest developed by two artists to inspire creativity. Purchase a Mystery Build Materials Kit. Create a work of art using ONLY the materials in the Kit. Upload photos or videos of your creation. Over $10,000 in cash prizes. Winners are selected by a panel of judges and online public voting. The specific materials in the Kit will be unknown to you at the time of purchase, but you can expect to find some common sculpting materials like wood, metal, clay, and fiber. The Kits are 10" wide and 3.5" deep and contain around 3.5 lbs. of materials. Enter individually or as a team. Enter as many times as you want, using multiple Mystery Build Kits. WCW Magazine's First Annual Art Contest | Monday, October 1

Wisdom Crieth Without is proud to sponsor its first annual art contest, in keeping with our continued mission to promote quality work from around the world. This contest serves as yet a further celebration of traditional art, and the rewards are quite rich indeed! First Prize: $500 cash prize, featured placement in the following issue of Wisdom Crieth Without, interview with the staff of Wisdom Crieth Without to appear in the magazine, five print contributor's copies of the issue the art appears in, cover placement in the year-end poetry/art anthology, and one contributor's copy of the year-end anthology. Second Prize: $300 cash prize, placement in the following issue of Wisdom Crieth Without, three print contributor's copies of the issue the art appears in, and placement in the year-end poetry/art anthology. Third Prize: $200 cash prize, placement in the following issue of Wisdom Crieth Without, two print contributor's copies of the issue the art appears in, and placement in the year-end poetry/art anthology.

Each piece must be made with purely traditional means. No digital manipulation, with the exception of minor color adjustments, are allowed. Photography, sketches, paintings, etchings, watercolors, inking, and such work are what is desired. One entry per person, with up to three images per entry. All art must be in line with WCW Magazine's standards. No nudity, lewd imagery, gratuitous violence, and other such uncouth behavior will be permitted. Each entry must be solely owned by the artist submitting it. Previously published art is allowed, as long as all rights of republication reside solely with the artist. All artists retain the copyright and intellectual ownership to their pieces. $5 entry fee goes toward the funding of the contest and the operation of Wisdom Crieth Without.
