It is fascinating to me to observe an artist’s mind at work. Most of us have trouble articulating our design process — we say it’s something we “feel.” So I love that Jude Hill speaks aloud her thoughts as she works through integrating reader-contributed feather embroideries and stone appliques into a whole work of textile art.
Chris of Ella’s Craft Creations shares an excellent method for transferring an embroidery design to fabric.

Check out this rockin block created by Claudia W of Austria for the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2013. The colors, the lovely stitch choices, the images keep my eyes traveling — I’m captivated by the details. And I adore her use of scattered seed beads to unify the block. Beautifully done!
Pam Harris of Gingerbread Snowflakes shows us how to use tooling foil to create beautiful frames for tiny artwork, such as Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). Janet Perry of Nuts About Needlepoint immediately saw the potential for using these frames with tiny bits of needlework such as inchies or twinchies.
