56th Chautauqua Annual Exhibition of Contemporary Art The juror will select approximately 25 works from all submitted pieces. The Juror VACI, the Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution, is pleased to announce that the new director of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Janne Siren, will serve as the juror for the 56th Chautauqua Annual Exhibition of Contemporary Art. A Finnish native, Siren was educated in the U.S. and has held leadership positions at several European galleries and museums. He has been director of the Helsinki Art Museum, which focuses on modern and contemporary art, since 2007, and has also served as the director of the Tampere Art Museum, which is located in southern Finland. He is the first Nordic director to take the helm of a major American art museum. Eligibility Open to all artists, accepting all mediums completed in the last three years. Artists must be 18 years of age or older. Image and Entry Form Submission Please apply online using our Slide Room Portal. Images should be saved in .jpg format at 72 dpi. Work Specification Work should be framed and ready for hanging. Framed works must be covered by plexi or acrylic: no glass. 2-D works should not exceed 100 pounds. 3-D work should not exceed 200 pounds. Work that does not follow these guidelines may be refused and returned to the artist. Awards Awards are given to outstanding works in the exhibition, as chosen by the juror. Awards range from $100-$1,000; a total of $2,500 will be given in awards. Sales All accepted work must be for sale. VACI will retain 50 percent commission on all sales. The price on the Entry Form will be considered a retail price from which the 50 percent commission will be deducted in the case of sales. Prospectus www.ciweb.org/annual-prospectus |
